sammy's garderobe: the flood

Today is Friday, 21^st December 2006. It’s the fourth day since the downpour started. The rain hasn’t stopped since this afternoon and it’s still drizzling out there. Today is the first day they cut off the water supply. Basically, we are running out of clean water supply.

My beloved lil’ hometown, Segamat has now turned into a water town. Most of the areas in Segamat are being flooded. Really hope that the flood will recede soon. As a matter of fact, Segamat is the worst area being affected in Johor. My mum said this is the biggest flood that had ever happened in Segamat. Well, all I can do is to pray hard. Lord, please take away this flood from us soon. I’m gonna keep my finger crossed.

We have no way to go now. It seems like we are gonna stuck here forever. I’m terrified. This is the first time in my life I feel terrified in my lil’ own sweet home. Feel so hopeless and desperate now. Feel so tiny and feel that not much can be done now. Feel so scared. Feel like crying.

All the roads to downtown are flooded. Clean water supply is scarce, food is scarce. My parents and I only had can foods for dinner tonight. All these are so poignant. These situations are going to continue unless Mr. Sun come out and dry up all the water on the roads.

I have lost contact with some of my friends now. Some of my friends are trapped and left stranded inside their houses. They have no where to go. No food, no water supply, no electricity supply. The flood has taken some of the residents’ precious life. Really really hope everything will come to an end tomorrow. I’m so worried about them. I'm so lucky that i don't have to be trapped inside a house and get surrounded by water...It's God's grace that i don't have to endure this hardship. Thank God for keeping my family and I safe. Everyone is rushing to the nearest mini market and shops to get can foods and mineral water. Everyone in Segamat is leading a hectic life right now. This is the first time that I feel affluence are nothing. What’s so big deal about being rich? Money can’t safe those flood victims right now. Grrr…just feel so helpless.

There are rumours saying that the water storage tank in Kuantan has sprung a leak and this is definitely gonna worsen the flood. No stiff proof yet. There are rumours saying that the authorities give help to those malay first. In other words, chinese would have to wait for their turn to be saved. What is all this sh*t about. This is indeed Malaysia. If this is the real situations, I hope someone will stand up and kick those slimy boys' ass. I hope everything is gonna be alright and everyone will go scot-free.
